Our Story
Created as an annual event for family and friends in 2010, SOULNIC Music Festival has grown consistently over the span of 14 years to become a music festival that hosts thousands of attendees annually.
SOULNIC is a free, family-oriented dance music festival with DJs and live musicians who showcase the soulful sides of Dance music. This annual event has quickly become one of L.A.'s most anticipated summer community events. After several years at Hansen Dam, we are excited to introduce families to Whittier Narrows on August 17, 2024. SOULNIC Music Festival provides a dance music experience within a natural, tree-populated setting from morning to evening, accompanied by renowned DJs a variety of cultural food trucks, fashion and lifestyle boutique vendors, as well as artisan pop-ups.
SOULNIC Music Festival was originally created by Extra Mild Sauce, an organization of visionaries who has produced quality music events nationwide. Their collective professional experience spans over 20 years in music, film and event planning.
Since 2009, they have been committed to bringing community and families together through the SOULNIC Music Festival, which is now operated by The Soulnic Foundation
To date, SOULNIC Music Festival has more than doubled in size each year.
This year, we anticipate 4,000 in attendance. In order to meet the rising costs to produce this event, we are seeking to raise $100,000, annually. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to THE GOOD SEED SHELTER, Our charitable beneficiary. Good Seed Shelter’s mission is to help youth not only live but thrive. We provide a supportive, nurturing and specialized care for homeless young people in California, through supportive housing, job training, comprehensive services and individual planning. The Good Seed creates an environment where youth, ages 18-25, can grow to achieve their full potential. Our aim is to ensure that youth have the tools they need to realize their goals and dreams, so that they may live healthy and meaningful lives.
The Soulnic Foundation 501(c)(3) was established in 2022. Through a variety of programs, our mission is to provide job skill training in the supporting careers in the arts, music, and entertainment industries to youth in underserved Los Angeles communities. We also promote, preserve, and encourage the music and culture of Los Angeles through the highly successful SOULINC Music Festival, and with educational programs, along with other cultural, civic, and economic activities.
